Paige working hard to improve
Marcus Paige is just happy to feel normal again. After an extended illness this winter kept him on the sidelines, the talented 2012 point guard is back to 100% and normal in the next few months will mean a lot of basketball tournaments and camps. It will also mean campus visits, time in the gym, and working to build his frame.
"It was a tough couple of months, but I am back to normal again," Paige said with a smile.
After a bout with mono during the late winter kept him on the sidelines for much of the state tournament run for Linn Mar High School, he is back where he loves to be, on the basketball court.
Paige recently earned MVP honors at the Spiece Run and Slam event in Ft. Wayne, IN leading his Martin Brothers AAU team to the title in the 16's group. He followed that up this past weekend with another strong performance helping his AAU team win the 16's bracket at the Kings of the Court event in Ankeny.
"It is extremely fun to play on this team. It's a fun group of guys and we have such great chemistry. If one of us doesn't have it in a game, someone always comes through and picks us up."
The time on the sidelines has provided an added incentive to Paige to get back in the gym and make up for lost time.
