Goines Talks Big About Norman
If you were to have a high school awards banquet for the players in Norman for Oklahoma's Sunday junior day almost unquestionably 'the scariest' would have gone to Keller (Texas) Central offensive tackle Simon Goines. The 6-foot-8, 280-pound prospect stood out amongst a huge crowd in the U.S. Army All-American combine and undoubtedly did the same at Oklahoma's star-studded junior day.
And apparently only moments after going through the door Oklahoma offensive line coach James Patton couldn't help but notice the big man and pull him aside.
"As soon as I got there, the offensive line coach greeted me and took me upstairs to meet coach (Bob) Stoops and looked around his office a while and talked to me for a good 15 minutes," Goines said. "Then we took the tours and the coaches seemed pretty interested in me."
