SpartanMag.com: Recruit Watch
DB Demetrious Cox of Jeannette High School, Pennsylvania
Cox will be leading his team this weekend in a semi-final match-up in the Pennsylvania Class 2A playoffs. Jeannette is 11-0 on the season d the will play Seton-LaSalle who is also 11-0. Cox will make official visit after he completes his season.
DB Jordan Diggs of Island Coast High School, Florida
Diggs will be at Michigan State this weekend for his official visit. Diggs has a visit to Sourth Carolina still to take before he makes his college choice.
WR Trey Griffey of Orlando Dr. Phillips High school, Florida
SpartanMag.com receiver information from an assistant coach at Dr. Phillips that Griffey was heading up for a visit. However, Dr. Phillips plays tonight against Wharton High School in the 1st round of the Florida Class 8A playoffs.
RB Prescott Line of Oxford High School, Michigan
SpartanMag.com has heard from a reliable source that Line is expected to be on campus unofficially this weekend. The Spartans may not have scholarship spot available right now, but he would be a prime candidate for a grey-shit. Former Spartans Travis Wilson and Monquiz Wedlow followed that route back when Coach Dantonio was an assistant. Both players went on scholarship before the season even started.
DE Kisima Jange of Chandler High School, Arizona
Jagne will not be visiting Michigan stat this weekend and that is by design. Mark Dantonio actually prefers to not have visits on game day weekends. He prefers to have visits after the season so he can spend more time with the recruit and their family. Jagne has stated a visit to Eat Lansing is likely in December.
WR Monty Madaris of Archbishop Moeller High School, Ohio
Madaris will lead his team against arch-rival St. Xavier on Saturday. Moeller defeated St. Xavier earlier this season, but many think that repeating that task will be a tall order. Stopping Madaris will be a tall order of the Bombers of St Xavier.
ATH David Perkins of Washington High school, Indiana
Perkins is playing in the Indiana Class 4A semi-finals tonight against Leo High School. The game is at 7PM in Fort Wayne. It is very likely that a Spartan coach will be in attendance to see Perkins in action.
DL Ryan Watson of Good Counsel High School, Maryland
Watson and his team are playing in the championship game on Saturday at 2PM against Gonzaga High School. Good Counsel is 11-0 and ranked as one of the top 25 programs in the nation by nearly every publication. Watson has indicated that Michigan State and Pitt have moved to the forefront of his recruitment with Penn State in turmoil.
Juniors on campus:
Michigan State will host several quality juniors on campus this weekend. Players such as Riley Norman of Cadillac, Nate Jeppersen of Portage Central, Cameron Dillard of Canton and Brogan Roback of Toledo St. Johns are all expected to be on campus.
SpartanMag.com does not expect any commitments to take place this weekend. Diggs is the big fish, but he has stated he does not plan on making his choice public until the Army All-American game. A commitment from Griffey would seem a bit odd considering some of the players left on the board and the position he plays. It certainly could happen, but with Monty Madaris still available, it would be a surprise.
