Time for the spread?
Florida State racked up 51 points and 478 yards of offense against Duke on Saturday, and it very easily could have been a lot more.
The offense was rolling by the end of the first quarter but with FSU up 21-0, the coaches opted to switch quarterbacks to give Xavier Lee some much needed work. It was the right move by Bobby Bowden and his staff but the move stalled the offense with Lee going 0-for-4 on his drives while completing just 3-for-9 with there interceptions.
Drew Weatherford and the offense got back on track in the second half with FSU scoring touchdowns on four of its next five drives. The only failure came on a one-play drive when Lorenzo Booker was caught in the endzone for a safety after Duke punted the ball inside FSU's one-yard line.
