Pachall eyeing 7-on-7 title
Back in March, Brownwood, Texas quarterback Casey Pachall made it known that his college destination would be to TCU. Four months later, Pachall's commitment is strong as ever, even after several schools tried to pry him away.
The Rivals 250 member and 9th rated dual-threat quarterback in the nation hasn't paid much attention to recruiting but instead has shifted his focus to the Lions 7-on-7 squad. Pachall has led his team to the 11th annual Fox Sports Southwest 7-on-7 tournament which starts tomorrow in College Station.
Brownwood will begin pool play tomorrow in the small classification (3A-1A) division and Pachall says his team must keep to the same game plan that got them there.
"We just have to focus on the basic principles," he said. "That's throwing and catching the ball like we've been doing. We have to get out there and work hard and especially play hard. Every game we play is important, we've played some teams in 3A but there's several teams that we haven't seen. Regardless of what the other teams jersey says he have to go out there and play hard."
Pachall is firm as ever on his decision to suit up as a Horned Frogs but that didn't stop teams like Florida from extending an offer recently. Since then however, his phone has stopped ringing.
"There were at first," Pachall said on team's continued recruitment for him. "The last one was Florida but since then there hasn't been anymore interest."
To show how solid Pachall is on his commitment to TCU, he is taking summer classes in order for him to graduate in December to get acclimated with his new environment.
"I just want to get up there," he said. "I want to learn the system and become good friends with my future teammates."
Purplemenace hopes to bring a photo gallery of Pachall during the 7-on-7 tournament.
