Oklahoma tries to keep things going in San Diego
For years and years Oklahoma has been searching for the next Roy Williams, little did they know they needed to return to California to find him. That's because the Sooners have identified Tony Jefferson of Chula Vista Eastlake as a player who could cure their need for a big physical presence at the safety position.
Jefferson, who stars at multiple positions for Eastlake, says that the idea of getting to hit someone is much more attractive than being the player taking the hits.
"Really it's 50/50. Whatever the best situation is for me at the school I go to, but I'd rather be hitting than taking the hits," Jefferson, the nation's No. 45 player said.
"They want me at the safety position, where Roy Williams played. That's who they said I reminded them of. But the offensive coordinator and staff want me to play running back."
