Moreno Valley (Calif.) Rancho Verde five-star defensive end Ronald Powell started his summer as a Rising Star and ended it a Top Gun.

In between, he played under Florida's Friday Night Lights and got that "down home feeling" from a school 2,400 miles away.

And while those events will all impact his recruitment, Powell's position on the field may mirror his position on schools come Signing Day 2010.
