For the first time in more than a month since participating in LSU's summer camp North DeSoto four-star athlete Curtis Carter talked to an assistant coach from the school.

Carter said he exchanged emails Saturday with wide receivers coach D.J. McCarthy who wanted to check on the 5-foot-10, 163-pounder and the preparation of his team on the heels of jamboree action this week.
