Bruin pledge earns League MVP

Four-star linebacker and UCLA Bruin commit Akeem Ayers (6-2, 214, 4.65) from Los Angeles (Calif.) Verbum Dei was injured early in the season and only played half a season. After he shook off his injuries went on to play up to his four-star reputation and ended up as his league's MVP.

Ayers was the man last Friday in the first round of the playoffs. He ended up scoring three touchdowns to go with his 10 tackles to help Verbum Dei win their opening round game.

On the season, remember this missing half the year, he racked up 44 tackles and one fumble recovery.
