Friday scrimmage notes

It was good to see Maurice Jones-Drew at the scrimmage tonight. Congrats are in order since he recently had his second child, plus two dogs and a wife the young man is very busy. Other Bruins on hand were Brandon Chillar, Auddie Attar, Justin Hickman, Alterraun Verner, Dennis Keyes, Brian Price and future Bruin Cassius Marsh.

Incoming freshman cornerback Anthony Jefferson received the seal of approval by his defensive coordinator at Cathedral, Kendrick Knox, who said Jefferson is as tough and athletic as anyone he ever coached. What makes this statement an eye opener is, he coached Akeem Ayers in high school.

The wide receivers came to play tonight and were the talk of the scrimmage. Randall Carroll never looked better. He caught three passes for 50 yards and touchdown. His touchdown was a terrific catch under extreme duress and good coverage from Sheldon Price, who later in the scrimmage picked off a pass.
