Upshaw compares favorably to Hibbert at same stage

July 14, 2011 - True big men are a rarity in all levels of basketball. Such is the case with people who genetically don't follow the same script as most - their numbers are less. Add the trend of tall hoopers wanting to 'show their game' - read function as smaller players do - and the number of traditional big guys, those moored in the paint for greatest advantage, is shrinking.

Robert Upshaw, a 6'11", 255 pound Class of 2012 center is not one of those nouveau guys. During last month's National Basketball Players Association Top 100 Camp, Upshaw, from the Fresno, California area, posted in the paint, rebounded and defended around the rim. There was no Dirk Nowitski in his game.
