Mountaineer legacy talks recruitment

Mansfield (Tx.) Timberview 2014 safety prospect Brandon Simmons is very familiar with the West Virginia football program. That's because his father Kashaan suited up for the Mountaineers at slot receiver in the 90's and the younger Simmons actually lived right across from Mountaineer Field.

So it should come as no surprise that the 6-foot, 170-pound safety has a special place reserved for the West Virginia football program.

"Growing up watching West Virginia on T.V. and following them I'd consider them very heavily," he said. "I watch them all the time, that's my college team. It would be a very special thing if they offered me a scholarship."
