Brian Vogler: 2010 TE to Watch

A number of juniors are looking to make a name for themselves this fall, but one name in Columbus (GA) is already out there. Brian Vogler is a big tight end out of Brookstone and he has picked up a big first offer out of the SEC.

Vogler is one to watch in the 2010 class. He has the size that will turn many heads immediately and he has nice athleticism as well. A number of ACC and SEC schools are already showing interest and he is looking to impress all of those schools and more in the coming months.

We visited the junior tight end down at Brookstone recently to see him perform live. He had a mini workout at tight end before sitting down for an exclusive interview.

You can see him in action at TE as well and watch the interview here.

If you were not able to access the video at this time, then here are some select quotes from Vogler.

"I am 6-foot-8, 240 pounds, and a size 18 shoe."

"I do love basketball and I do love football, but I would have to say that I am leaning more towards football because I think I might have a better shot and I feel I am better at that sport."

"I feel like I am aggressive [on Friday nights] and when the game comes down to it, I want the ball."

"I feel I have very good blocking skills and if they leave me open deep, then it could be a long night."

"It [playing is a run heavy offense] teaches you when you are given the opportunity to get a pass to you, you have to take every advantage of it. If you get a pass thrown to you one time a game, then that is your time to show what you got."

"I did go to Florida's Friday Night Lights and I have been receiving letters from schools such as Florida, Georgia, Kentucky (first offer last week), Vanderbilt, and Auburn."

"Growing up in Florida, I was always a Gators fan, so I have to with Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, and Tennessee [as my top schools]."

"One of my personal goals is more like a team goal, and that is to get to the state championship. Also, I want to catch every ball that is thrown to me and I want to be one of the top guys on team in pancakes."

"I would like to go to Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee to see some games."

NOTE: Since this interview was filmed, the University of Kentucky has offered Vogler a scholarship.
