Bruins take home a win

The Bruins traveled all across the country and against all odds pulled off the upset. UCLA was at times sloppy as they had too many key penalties that kept drives alive and had six fumbles. Thankfully the ball bounced UCLA's way and only lost one of them, but the key to this victory, was this young team's resiliency. Time after time the Bruins made plays when they needed to.

"I'm very pleased with the resiliency of our football team," UCLA head coach Rick Neuheisel said. "There were precarious times in the first half when we gave up the fumble and the touchdown to go down 10-3. We had some adversity; a facemask, a five-yard penalty for off sides, a lot of different things, but rather than wallow in pity, we kept par. That's what we want to instill in our team. I'm very pleased to see it demonstrated in such a way."

The Bruin defense will have to do the heavy lifting until the offense gains some experience and that is what they did.
