After a less than stellar performance on Saturday against Hills West in the semifinal round, Jabarie Hinds made up for lost time with an MVP showing against Jamestown.

Jamestown played on par with Mt. Vernon and even led in the early part of the first quarter and was tied with the Knights to start the second quarter. Receiving solid offense from Jaysean Paige and Joey Campion, the Jamestown Red Raiders only found themselves down, 33-30 at the midway point.

In the second half, the combination of Hinds and Khalid Samuels would give the Knights a small cushion but it would be enough of a cushion for Mt. Vernon to on to win to become the NY public school team with the most titles.

Hinds scored a game high 26 points to go with 5 assists, 5 steals and 5 rebounds for Mt. Vernon. Samuels added 17 points, 2 assists and 3 rebounds. Paige led the Red Raiders with 21 points and 6 rebounds while Campion contributed 10 points and 7 rebounds.

The Knights will head to Albany to play the NYCHoops.net #1 (NYC) ranked Boys & Girls Kangaroos on Saturday March 26th at 3:45 in the Federation T.O.C. Class AA semifinals.
