Peterman commits to the Volunteers

Nathan Peterman had big dreams to play college football when he was young and now, thanks to an offer from the University of Tennessee, those dreams will come true. Peterman, the 6-foot-2, 210 pound quarterback from Bartram Trail high school, committed to the Volunteer program this morning.

"I just really feel that Tennessee is going to be the best fit for me as a person, a student, and a player. They play in a great conference and against the best competition in the country. The stadium and fan support is unmatched. In the end, it was the coaching staff that really made me jump on board. They are a great group of people that are giving me a great opportunity."

Peterman had a final five of Vanderbilt, Florida State, Wake Forest, Cincinnati, and UConn, but when the Tennessee offer came a few days ago, they vaulted to the top of his list and he jumped at the chance to play in Knoxville.

"Coach Darin Hinshaw is the coach that I committed to this morning and he seemed very excited. I am really looking forward to getting to know all the players and coaches more over the next few months. When they offered, I was very excited. They are a top tier program and have a bright future."

Peterman becomes the Volunteers 6th commitment for the 2012 class.
