Going Camping: Receivers

UCLA fall camp is just a few days away, and with that, BruinSportsReport.com continues its Going Camping preview with thereceivers.

2013 UCLA RECEIVERS AT A GLANCE
PRE-CAMP DEPTH CHART
X (outside)

1. Shaquelle Evans - 6-1, 211, RS Senior

Evans has established himself as this team's most solid and reliable receiver. He has some lofty goals this season, somewhere around 1,000 yards and 10 touchdowns, but with the way he's improved since last year, those might not be too farfetched.

2. Eldridge Massington- 6-1, 205, Freshman

A source close to the situation said Massington should be 100 percent for fall camp, and that seems like it'd be accurate, considering he tore his ACL more than 12 months ago. He looked a bit off this spring fighting through the injury, but when healthy, he's a Rivals250 recruit.

F (inside slot)

1. Devin Fuller - 5-11, 195, Sophomore

This team has a lot of playmakers, but Fuller may just be the best one. A complete freak athlete, Fuller had possibly the best spring of any offensive player and should be a huge factor this year.

2. Ahmaad Harris - 5-4, 165, RS Freshman

Harris will have to fight off true freshmen Darren Andrews and Jalen Ortiz for this backup spot, but being a second-year player and going through Sal Alosi's program should give Harris the edge to start camp.

Y (tight end)

1. Darius Bell - 5-11, 210, RS Senior

When healthy, Bell will be the starting tight end this year. The problem is, he's often injured. He runs great routes and is a veteran presence, however.

2. Thomas Duarte - 6-3, 221,Freshman

Coaches gush about a lot of their incoming freshmen, but one they can't stop talking about is Duarte. He has some serious athleticism and big-time game, and should push Bell for starter reps immediately.

Z (outside)

1. Jordan Payton - 6-1, 212, Sophomore

Payton had a very solid spring and held off Devin Lucien to earn the starting reps to start fall camp next month.

2. Devin Lucien - 6-0, 185, RS Sophomore

A Dez Bryant-like receiver, Lucien has maybe the most talent of any wideout on the team. If he can ever put the complete package together - the playbook, blocking, attitude - he could be an All-American.

BATTLE TO KEEP AN EYE ON
Devin Lucien vs. Jordan Payton should be a firework show all summer. Lucien was beyond vocal about coming for Payton's spot in the spring, and you can bet that won't change in San Bernardino. He makes catches that no other player on this team can make, and if he makes enough of them, it could be Payton looking up at Lucien to start the season.

PRESSURE IS ON...
Darius Bell. He's clearly talented, there's no denying that. But if he can't stay healthy, Thomas Duarte could run by him on this depth chart. The Mater Dei standout is already a coaches' favorite, and Bell can't give the staff any doubts in him this summer in camp.

NEWCOMER TO WATCH
Eldridge Massington. He's more than 12 months removed from tearing his ACL, which is when doctors usually say the knee should be 100 percent again. If he is in fact that healthy, he could be a big weapon for this team. Alabama, USC and nearly every other BCS program wanted him, so he should be a keeper for UCLA this year.

POSITION MVP
Devin Fuller is going to have a massive year. The jukes and catches he made in spring camp made him look like a future first rounder. On a team with no real running game threat yet, Fuller could see a ton of passes this season, and we're betting he makes some huge plays with those footballs.
