Adams has change of heart, will head to NBA

Nine days after announcing his intentions to spurn the NBA Draft for his junior year at UCLA, Jordan Adams has apparently had a change of heart.

The Bruins' leading scorer last season decided late Saturday night that he will in fact put his name in the NBA Draft, a UCLA spokesman confirmed.

The move comes as a surprise to most in Westwood, particularly after Adams said last week, "I've had so much fun playing here at UCLA, and I'm really excited about the team we're going to have next year."

The headline Jordan Adams Will Return to UCLA for Junior Season is still front and center on the UCLA men's basketball official website, and the Bruins' coaching staff had mapped out its recruiting efforts for the foreseeable future with Adams penned on the roster.

But that's all changed now. No reason was given for the change of heart, a UCLA spokesman said. Perhaps surefire first-round guards Andrew Harrison and Aaron Harrison electing to stay at Kentucky opened up more room in the Draft than initially anticipated.

Either way, UCLA will now be forced to replace three of its top four scorers from last season, as the NBA's siren call has taken Zach LaVine, Kyle Anderson and now Adams from Steve Alford's grasp.
