Memphis moves up in 2010 team rankings

The Tigers are the biggest movers in the Rivals.com 2010 national team recruiting rankings, moving up from No. 14 to No. 3 behind the commitment of five-star guard Joe Jackson. The addition of the local standout, along with the commitment of Will Barton, gives Memphis the most dynamic backcourt in the class of 2010.
Virginia is the other previously ranked team to make a move up the charts. The commitment of four-star big man James Johnson moves the Cavaliers from No. 11 to No. 8.
With the expansion of the national team recruiting rankings from a top 15 to a top 20, Xavier, Georgetown, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State and Tennessee enter the rankings.
The addition of four-star combo guard Trae Golden to the Tennessee recruiting class places the Vols at No. 13 in the rankings.
Xavier jumps in at No. 13 with the addition of Rivals150 prospect Griffin McKenzie, who committed after our previous team rankings update.
The Atlantic Coast Conference is by far the top recruiting league in terms of the 2010 class. The ACC has seven teams in the top 20, with five of those being in the top 10.
The Big Ten is second with four teams, including Ohio State at No. 1. The Big East is follows with three teams, one of which is Syracuse at No. 2. The Big 12 is fourth with three teams represented. Conference-USA is represented by Memphis at No. 3. The Atlantic-10 has Xavier and Dayton in the rankings. Neither the Pac-10 nor the SEC are represented at this time.
