Bruins start slow, finish strong

LOS ANGELES (AP) Malcolm Lee scored 12 of his 16 points in the first half and UCLA used a balanced attack to beat Arizona State 71-53 on Thursday night.

Five players scored in double figures for the Bruins (20-8, 11-4 Pac-10), including Tyler Honeycutt with 13 points. Joshua Smith and Reeves Nelson had 12 points apiece.
Lazeric Jones added 10 points and 10 assists, while Nelson finished with 12 rebounds.
Chanse Creekmur scored nine points for Arizona State (10-17, 2-13), which led by as many as 12 points in the first half. The loss was the Sun Devils' 10th in their last 11 games.
UCLA overcame the shaky start to shoot 52 percent. The Bruins turned the ball over just nine times.
