Free Preview: Super corner Leon Hall

When we talked to Vista head coach Greg Hauser earlier in the week the Bruins hadn’t showed up on the Vista campus yet.
Look for that to change.

Vista is home of one of the state’s best defensive backs in Leon Hall. Hall stands 6-foot-1, weighs 180 pounds and was timed in the 40-yard dash at 4.42 at the Nike combine held at USC last month.
Hall was an all-league selection for the San Diego Section Division One CIF championship team. He collected 26 tackles, four picks and one fumble recovery as a junior. Opposing teams seldom wanted to challenge Vista’s talented corner.
Even though Hall is a pure cover corner in every sense of the description, he still loves to be physical. He loves to hit.
“Leon is a Quentin Jammer (Texas All-America and NFL first-rounder) kind of player,” Hauser said. “Leon is someone who can cover you and he’s someone who will hit you. He is such an outstanding player.”
Though UCLA hasn’t been by the school at the time that we spoke to Hauser, the Bruins are expected. After all UCLA has had good luck at the school in recent years. Current Bruins, defensive end Rusty Williams and linebacker Tim Warfield are Vista alums.
The word is Hall has pending offers from ASU, USC, Oregon, Cal, WSU, San Diego State, Utah and Fresno State.
It looks like Hall is another big timer from Vista high.
This is one player that BruinBlitz will be keeping tabs on.
Stay tuned…
