Free Report: Bruins land stellar athlete

The UCLA Bruins continue to finish the recruiting season strong with the verbal of cornerback Mike Norris (5-10, 175, 4.4) from Oakland (Calif.) Skyline. Norris was a first-team all-league selection as a defensive back and was first-team all-area as an utility player.
“UCLA got a great player in Mike,” Skyline head coach Mike Norris said. “He reminds of Will Blackwood who played for me in high school and went on to San Diego State and played in the NFL.”

“Mike’s athleticism is something to marvel at,” Beam said. “He shocks us everyday with something he does athletically. We look at him and shake our heads and ask, ‘how did you do that?”
Morris is a solidly built athlete with a great game vertical.
“I don’t know if he has one of those huge verticals like 36 and up or not,” Beam said. “But you should see him leap in games.”
“To give you an idea what a fantastic athlete Mike is,” Beam said. “He trip jumps 45-feet and he just started triple jumping a year ago.”
Norris has good strength with his 270-pound bench press and he’s a good student too who carries a 3.5 GPA.
