Free Report: Bruins making late run

The Bruins are making another late run for a standout shooter in two guard/three forward Lee Cummard (6-6, 165) from Mesa, Ariz. Cummard was a first-team all-league and was an all-state (honorable mention) as a junior after averaging 15 points per game, 6.0 rebounds per game, 3.5 assists per game and 2.2 blocked shots per game.
“Lee is a great shooter and great ball handler,” Mesa head coach Shawn Lynch said. “He can shoot the three and has a good mid range game. Lee can also create his own shot by putting the ball the floor and taking it to the bucket.”

“Lee is a decent defender and has better feet than you think,” Lynch said. “He has great timing in terms of blocking shots.
“Lee has tremendous athleticism,” Lynch said. “He’s lanky and he could still grow more physically.”
According to Lynch Cummard has narrowed down his top five schools to BYU, ASU, Oregon, Oregon State and UCLA.
“Lee has scheduled home visits from all five schools and he will take official visits to the same five schools,” Lynch said. “He is fairly objective and he will sign early.”
If any school has an advantage it could be ASU since it is only 15 minutes from his home and BYU because of religious reasons. Still at this time Cummard is very open minded regarding school choice.
Cummard is of the LDS faith and will be going on his mission straight out of high school so he is essentially a 2006 recruit.
