Free Report: Jesse White talks to BruinBlitz

If the beginning of this recruiting season is any indication of how the Bruins are going to do this season then, watch out. The Bruins landed arguably the nation’s number one offensive center prospect in Jesse White (6-3, 290, 4.79) from Denver (Colo.) Mullen. This guy’s skill level is off the charts. White has the talent and the smarts to play early in his career. As a football player, White is a pure animal.
“There were two reasons that I chose UCLA,” White said. “First I think the academic and athletic combination at UCLA is second to none.”

“The second reason is the coaches,” White said. “I’ve known Coach (Karl) Dorrell, Coach (Jon) Embree, Coach (Eric) Bieniemy, Coach (Doc) Kries and Coach (Tom) Cable since I was eight. Going to UCLA is like going home to family.”
“I think Coach Cable is the best offensive line coach in the country,” White said.
Welcome news indeed. Landing a player of the stature and the talent of White this early is huge for the future of the program.
The CU connection came through big time for the Bruins.
The Bruins land a player with a great up field push and has tremendous lateral movement.
White was selected first-team all-conference, first-team all-state and Best of all Colorado.
White’s quickness for his size is sick. He moves so well that he pulls and can block the one, two and three techniques.
That is a big man, who can move.
Versatility is the name of White’s game he has the skill to play all three inside line positions (both guards and center), but when you can play center and move like White, you want him to line up at center.
Talk about strength this guy has it his bench is 465 pounds and his squat his 665. Now that is impressive.
Another thing that will knock your socks off his he has a 33-inch vertical. We are talking about a 290-pounder with those kind of hops. That is very explosive for a big man.
White also has great bloodlines; his father was an All-American at CU in the 70’s and played for a couple of seasons with the Los Angeles Rams.
The White’s Dad has helped him with his technique and because of that training he has an advanced knowledge of the game, both mentally and technically.
White is carrying on the family tradition of athletic excellence. But there is a twist.
White’s father Leon was a standout high school football player at Bell high school here in Los Angeles who ended up at Colorado and Jesse brings the family back full circle by being a big time player in Colorado who will be playing his college football in his Dad’s hometown at UCLA.
The Bruins are thankful that they get an early commit out of White. He would have been a big time national recruit if his recruitment would have had any time to gather momentum
As early as it is the Bruins landed White over other interest from Oregon, Washington, ASU, Stanford, CSU and Colorado.
Bruin fans have reason to be very happy tonight. Landing White is a big time recruit.
Tomorrow morning we will have another report on UCLA’s other pledge the very athletic and talented quarterback Osaar Rasshan.
Interesting enough Rasshan has NFL bloodlines too.
