Free Report: Snyder favors Bruins

The Bruins look very good with their recruitment of defensive end Clinton Snyder (6-4, 220, 4.6) from Spring Valley (Calif.) Monte Vista. Snyder is one of the best pass rushers in the Golden State this season. The Bruins don’t have a commitment from him yet but they are definitely the front runner. Snyder has said that UCLA is a favorite.
“I know that UCLA is a great academic school and it is very close to home,” Snyder said. “I would not mind staying in the state of California.”

“I spoke to coach (Karl) Dorell and I really liked him,” Snyder said. “I think they have things going in the right direction.”
Besides UCLA; Pac-10 rival Arizona and another local school, San Diego State have also offered Snyder scholarships
Stanford, Cal, Washington, and USC are also showing interest in Snyder.
Snyder was a one-man wrecking crew in 2003. He broke the school record for solo tackles with 90, tackles for loss with 22 and sacks with 17 ½. He was selected League and Area Defensive Player of the Year in addition to being selected first-team all-CIF and all-county for his performance as junior.
In an earlier interview with BruinBlitz former Monte Vista head coach Ed Carberry had this to say about Snyder.
“Clinton was either held or made the play. He has every tool that you could want a defensive end to have.”
“Clinton is just a great player,” Carberry said. “He’s going to be one of those kids that gets early offers and will be a national recruit.”
“I think Clinton is the best defensive player in the county,” Carberry said. “He could be the best defensive player I coached in my 15 years at Monte Vista.”
Coach Carberry left Monte Vista to take over as head coach at San Jacinto College.
Snyder’s performance was one of the reasons that Monte Vista has an 11-2 record and won the San Diego Section CIF Division II championship.
Grades will definitely not be a problem as he has the grades to play anywhere in the nation with his 4.45 GPA and his 1240 SAT.
