UCLA basketball receives a significant commitment this morning out of the transfer portal from former Kentucky small-forward Johnny Juzang (6-6, 214).

Out of high school, Juzang was a highly rated recruit (four-star) from Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Harvard Westlake, and according to our Rivals.com rankings in the 2019 class, he was listed as the number 34 overall recruit in the class as well as the number seven for his position.

At Kentucky, Juzang was in the rotation and had consistent minutes for the Wildcats. During the 2019 season, he averaged 2.9 points per game and added 1.9 rebounds per game. Juzang averaged 12.3 minutes per game on a stacked Kentucky team.

Juzang coming back home to play for the Bruins is a huge pick up for Mick Cronin and staff who will make a big-time contribution for the Bruins once he is eligible.

Juzang is a player that brings numerous attributes to the floor in Westwood. He can take the ball to the rim and is also terrific on the perimeter. He provides a reliable range with his jumper from 15-20 feet. Juzang is undoubtedly a forward that has a multi-dimensional skill-set that will carry over very well into Mick Cronin's style of play.

Juzang is petitioning the NCAA for immediate eligibility.
