News and Notes - UCLA/WSU

Thanks to Ucla's Sports Information Department, some news 'n notes for UCLA v WSU.
UCLA leads Washington State 38-18-1 in a series which dates back to 1928. The Bruins own an 8-5 advantage in games played in the Rose Bowl, but WSU has won three (2006, 2004, 2002) of the last five contests held in Pasadena. UCLA has won the last three games played in the series, but WSU owns a 6-4 edge over the last 10 meetings.

In last year's matchup, the teams were tied at 28 heading into the final quarter of play in the Rose Bowl. Richard Brehaut, who started the game, ran it in from one-yard out to put the Bruins ahead to stay with 10:08 remaining. Derrick Coleman, who totaled 185 yards rushing for the day, registered his third touchdown of the game on a four-yard run to make the final score UCLA, 42-28.
Johnathan Franklin also had a big game with a career-best 216 yards rushing, his third straight 100-yard plus effort of the 2010 season. The Bruin total of 437 rushing yards was the most by the team since 1979.

*** Tight end Joseph Fauria caught his third and fourth touchdown passes of the season at Stanford which is the most by a Bruin tight end since Marcedes Lewis had 10 scoring grabs in the 2005 season.
***Wide receiver Nelson Rosario has the team lead with 23 catches; he joined the top 20 lists all-time at UCLA in both receptions (t15th) and receiving yards (15th) in the game at Stanford (see chart in bio for details).
***Linebacker Patrick Larimore (38) leads the team in tackles and racked up a team-best 11 stops at Stanford
***Running back Johnathan Franklin totaled 96 yards on 12 carries against a Stanford defense which had been leading the nation with a 36 yard per game average; Franklin has risen to 14th on the all-time school rushing list (2,092) and became the 15th Bruin to go over 2,000 yards rushing for a career in the game at Stanford
Click ***Quarterback Richard Brehaut became the 20th Bruin passer to exceed the 2,000-yard career mark (2,097) after throwing for 202 at Stanford; he has rushed for 158 yards this season after netting 61 a year ago.Here to view this Link.
*** Senior Taylor Embree has 126 career catches which rank tied for 8th on UCLA's all-time school list (Marcedes Lewis). Embree is 13th on the receiving yards list at 1,661 (Jojo Townsell No. 12 - 1,773).
