"I just want to say I will be committing to the University of California Los Angeles," James said on the ESPNU broadcast in Oregon.
James, a 6-foot-5, 275-pound offensive lineman who has the versatility to play either guard or tackle at UCLA, picked the Bruins over Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, USC and Utah.
"It was really hard," James said of his decision. "It came down to (UCLA) and Ohio State really. They were just like two different schools with one a college town and one city life. But I love California and this is where I definitely want to be."
James said the Bruins' coaching staff, led by his main recruiter Taylor Mazzone, and their potential 2015 recruiting class are what really sold him on committing to UCLA.
"I love their coaching staff," James said. "It was probably my favorite coaching staff when I went through this whole thing. And UCLA, it's going to be a great program. They have a great recruiting class going on with Josh Rosen, one of the top quarterbacks. That's a guy I'd love to block for."
Click The Herriman (Utah) prospect is rated as the No. 3 overall prospect in the state of Utah and is also the No. 28-ranked tackle in the country according to Rivals.com. He became the Bruins' ninth pledge of the 2015 class, and just the second OL behind four-star guard Tevita Halalilo. Here to view this Link.
