UCLA redshirt freshman linebacker Jalen Woods took a more traditional, direct path to Westwood compared to punter Will Powers.

After Wednesday’s practice, Woods discussed his growing reserve role and what he’s learned from position coach Ken Norton Jr.

Powers, meanwhile, although a Southern California native, attended boarding school on the East Coast at an early age before winding up at Princeton. In the offseason, he transferred to UCLA and arrived over the summer.
