Bruins land second four-star receiver

The was some worry among the Bruin faithful that they would be shutout at the wide receiver department for the class of 2012. Instead the Bruins have picked up two four-star wide receivers within moments of one another and the day isn't even over.

Joining Jordan Payton in this receiver class is four-star Javon Williams (6-5, 175) from Chandler, Ariz., who announced a little while ago that he will be joining his high schools friends, Bruins freshman quarterback, Brett Hundley and incoming freshman three-star athlete prospect Paul Perkins to help new Bruin head football coach, Jim Mora return UCLA football to where its fans want it to be.

In Williams the Bruins land a tall, rangy receiver who has the penchant to make big plays. As a senior, Williams more than proved his big playmaking ability as he had 33 receptions for 923 yards and seven touchdowns, while averaging just under 28 yards per catch.

"My trip went real good," Williams said. "I really didn't get to build a good relationship over the recruiting process, but over the past few weeks, especially the last week, I have grown to a pretty close relationship with (UCLA wide receiver coach) Coach Eric Yarber and (UCLA offensive coordinator) Coach Noel Mazzone."

Williams was selected to the Rivals250 team for the class of 2012 and is ranked as the nation's 227 prospect at any position. He also earned a spot on the Rivals.com Arizona postseason Top 15 team ranking as the Grand Canyon State's No. 4 prospect at any position.

In track, Williams runs the 400, 200, 4x4 and 4x1.
