FREE PREVIEW: UCLA scores again

Though BruinBlitz hasn’t been able to reach Athlete prospect Alex Ghabreselasse yet, we were able to get the news from a very good source of ours in San Diego and it’s official, Ghabreselasse has committed to UCLA. Ghabreselasse saw his stock soar this spring getting offers from Colorado, Arizona and Colorado State as well as the Bruins.
A player like Ghabreselasse will undoubtedly continue to be recruited but he is happy with his commitment to the Bruins.

Ghabreselasse stands 6-foot-3, weighs 185 pounds and runs a legit 4.55 40-yard dash. “G” is a big time playermaker who caught 48 passes for 940 yards and 14 TDs as a junior. He also played a stellar free safety and picked off nine passes his junior season.
In our BruinBlitz report of last week Bonita Vista head coach Carl Parrick said, “Alex ranks among the top three athletes I have coached in my thirty year coaching career.”
Ghabreselasse will play quarterback his senior season because of his athleticism and he is working overtime acquainting himself with the playbook. He certainly has the arm for QB. “G” used to participate in track but now he's devoting himself full time to football so he can gain weight and increase his strength. He currently benches 230-pounds, cleans 190-pounds and has recorded a 29-inch vertical jump.
Though Ghabreselasse will play QB this season, he wants to play receiver in college and that is the position the Bruins recruited him at.
Alex G is also an outstanding student who carries 3.46 GPA in the core. He will take his SAT this coming Saturday and should have no trouble passing the test with plenty of room to spare.
Great get for the Bruins…
