Free Report: QB on Bruin radar

Another quarterback that UCLA has an interest in is Chris Turner (6-4, 200, 4.8) from West Hills (Calif.) Chaminade. Turner is a proven hard worker as he has had a very busy summer on the camp circuit. He camped at UCLA, Michigan State, Illinois, Purdue and Notre Dame. Turner has a high ceiling and is just beginning to fulfill his potential. This young signal-caller had a dramatic turn around from his sophomore to junior years. Even better things are expected out of Turner in 2004.
After suffering through a tough sophomore season when Turner threw 13 interceptions and only two touchdowns, he bounced back as a junior, throwing for 3,391 yards, 30 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

Turner was selected first-team all-league for his junior season performance. He is really coming into his own as a quarterback. One thing that has been a constant about Turner is his intelligence. Intelligence is an intangible that can take a quarterback a long way.
Besides all the camps that Turner participated in this summer, he also took an unofficial visit to Northwestern.
Turner currently has offers on the table from Illinois, UNLV, San Diego State, UTEP and Boise State. There are other schools that are on the fence and could offer soon.
Two of those schools that haven’t offered but are showing a lot of interest in Turner are your UCLA Bruins and the Michigan State Spartans. If one of those two schools does indeed offer Turner, then his recruitment could come to a sudden end. Turner enjoyed all of his camps particularly camps at both Michigan State and UCLA.
Turner also turned in a fine performance at the EA 11 tryouts held in Las Vegas and showed up to the B2G A-Game the last weekend in June.
“I learned tons of football this summer,” Turner said. “Some schools try to teach you their way of doing things while other schools try improve on the things you are already doing.”
“I have really enjoyed seeing Chris develop over the past year,” Chaminade coach Ben McEnroe said in an earlier interview with BruinBlitz.com. “His improvement over the year has been the greatest I have seen in all my years of coaching. Chris has made tremendous strides.”
Turner is also a teammate of Bruin recruit Logan Paulson. Paulson has seen his stock soar since this past spring.
