Jhevon Hill: UCLA was 'the best fit for me'

A few weeks ago, Jhevon Hill said he was only "50-50" on whether or not he'd make an early commitment to UCLA.

On Wednesday morning, that 50-50 became 100-0 in a hurry.

Hill, a 6-foot-3, 185-pound safety from San Bernardino (Calif.) Cajon, announced on Twitter he was shutting down his recruitment and committing to UCLA.

So what changed for the Ground Zero athlete in only a matter of about three weeks time?

"Recently I discussed this decision with my parents and my recruiter and this could just overall be the best fit for me," Hill said. "It's close to home, they have a great coaching staff, great academics, I can get early playing time because they have no true safeties. So I just committed."

Hill doesn't envision this pledge as a soft verbal, either. The big DB said, "As of right now, I'm shutting it all down."
