Three-star wide receiver Jordan Lasley, who committed to UCLA late Saturday evening, spoke with BruinSportsReport.com about the Bruin pledge:
Why'd you decide to commit to UCLA?

Lasley: "I committed because UCLA is my dream school. I actually talked it over with my parents two nights ago and they really love UCLA as well. And my parents were basically my decision."
You were at UCLA for the 7-on-7 tournament, did you just walk over and commit during it?
Lasley: "The 7-on-7 tournament, I couldn't really get away from the 7-on-7 tournament, so I just waited 'till it was all the way over and I committed. I called coach (Adrian) Klemm."
What was his reaction?
Lasley: "He was basically stoked about it. He yelled out, "8clap!" and all this other stuff."

How's it feel to officially call yourself a UCLA commit?
Lasley: "It actually feels pretty good. There's a sense of assurance that I'm going to college and everything. It actually makes me want to work that much harder."
How do you see yourself fitting in at UCLA?
Lasley: "I see myself fitting in pretty well. They're very competitive up there, coach Yarbs (Eric Yarber) is a good coach, and I definitely feel like I can come in and make an impact and try to win the National Championship."
Do you want to play right away or redshirt at UCLA?
Lasley: "I actually do want to play right away, but you know if the cards that are dealt to me say I have to redshirt my first year, then I guess that's what I have to do."

Are you going to be strictly an outside receiver at UCLA?
Lasley: "Yeah, maybe slot, I don't really know yet."
Are you still going to camp at USC this week?
Lasley: "I am going to go to USC's camp this week and I still am going to take my five trips this fall."
People are going to ask why, so why is that?
Lasley: "I just want to actually experience the whole recruiting process, and coach Klemm and the coaching staff said it was OK, so I made sure it was OK with them first."
How solid would you say your commitment is then?
Lasley: "My commitment is very solid actually, I just want to experience the whole thing."
Do you know of any trips you'd like to take?
Lasley: "I'm not really sure yet, because I know a lot more schools are going to start rolling in now, so I don't have any schedule right now."
What will you be working on between now and Signing Day?
Lasley: "Just helping my team get to another state championship and just bettering my game. That's pretty much it."
Anything specifically?
Lasley: "I actually do want to be 190-195 pounds before the season starts. I'm at 183."
How hard are you going to try to get your Gardena (Calif.) Serra teammates to come with you to UCLA?
Lasley: "I'm really trying hard to get Adoree' (Jackson), Dwight (Williams), Glen (Ihenacho) - I'm trying to get all those guys there. I'm basically just telling them the whole coaching staff is fired up about them and everything, so I'm going to just try to get those guys there."
How confident are you that you can land all of them?
