Meadors chooses UCLA

Just days after landing his UCLA offer in November, Nathan Meadors wore Bruin socks to his playoff game and sounded like he was just days, and perhaps even hours, away from committing to UCLA.
Yet the three-star athlete decided to take his time. He went on visits, played host to half a dozen colleges and looked over all his options before making a decision.

But on Wednesday afternoon, he realized the school he wanted to go to never changed. UCLA was his dream choice from the beginning, and even throughout the past three months of trying to poke a hole in the idea, Meadors never could find a program he liked better than UCLA's.
"It's been a dream school of mine," Meadors said of why he chose the Bruins Wednesday. "I feel I fit the best there and my ability to play as a true freshman and the opportunity that I have to play are there. I just need to put forth the effort. And it's really just the best fit for me."
Meadors made the pledge official on Fox Sports Prime Ticket, picking UCLA over Notre Dame, Cal, Boise State and others.
The three-star athlete said he will begin his career in Westwood as a safety, but cornerback and possibly even some offensive snaps could be in his future as well.
But for now, he's just excited he can finally officially call himself a Bruin.
"Me and coach Meat (Demetrice Martin) built a great relationship since the spring," Meadors said. "My time there (on my visit last weekend) was great. It's a dream school of mine and the opportunity to play in front of my family and friends is something I want to do and I feel like I could get into the League if I went to UCLA."
