UCLA lands Michigan TE transfer Devin Asiasi

UCLA missed on Devin Asiasi when he was a four-star tight end coming out of high school in 2016.

The Bruins didn't miss again when he transferred out of Michigan a few weeks ago.

Asiasi, a 6-foot-5, 287-pound tight end, has decided to continue his college career at UCLA, the school announced on its Twitter page Thursday.

Asiasi was a huge UCLA target throughout his recruiting process. At one point down the recruiting stretch in 2015, it appeared the Bruins had a shot to pair him with Boss Tagaloa as a De La Salle-UCLA package deal. Asiasi' relationship with Jim Harbaugh, however, was too good, and the Bruins figured they had lost the TE for good when he signed with Michigan in February 2016.

Reportedly Asiasi wanted to move closer to home to be near family after just one year in Ann Arbor, though. UCLA became the favorite quickly.

Asiasi will have to sit out one year because of transfer rules, but he comes to UCLA with four years to play three.
