Five-star defensive end Eddie Vanderdoes will be eligible to play for UCLA this season, sources confirmed to BruinSportsReport.com late Tuesday evening.
The 6-foot-3, 310-pound defensive lineman had his final appeal with the National Letter of Intent committee on Monday afternoon, and less than 24 hours later, Vanderdoes learned he will be let out of his Notre Dame NLI and will be allowed to play for UCLA this season.
Vanderdoes reportedly asked out of his Notre Dame letter of intent in order to be closer to his ailing grandmother.
He will now have the full five years to play four, and given UCLA's lack of DL depth, he could even be penciled in as the starting DE next week in San Bernardino.
