SAN ANTONIO -- UCLA five-star quarterback signee Dante Moore said he flies to Los Angeles on Sunday and starts classes Monday, but on Saturday he got to play the role of high school football star one last time.
And he turned it into an exclamation point on this chapter of his football career, passing for four touchdowns to lead the East team to a 55-17 victory at the nationally-televised All-American Bowl while earning game MVP honors.
When it was all over, his final high school game, Moore sat on the turf inside the Alamodome and took in the moment, his MVP trophy in front of him.
"True blessing. I didn't know the day was going to turn out like this," he said a little while later. "Actually, we woke up really early and everybody was tired [but] it was just a great game. East side came out practicing real tough all week and we really came out and proved ourselves on the defensive and offensive side of the ball.
"Really, everybody knows about our offense and how dominant we are. Brandon Inniss, Jalen Brown, Carnell Tate, all these great receivers we have, really, they make the job easier for me, to be honest."
